The Kmicic Birch 14” × 4.5” is a fully handcrafted stave-construction birch snare drum, created for drummers who value exceptional precision, powerful projection and the natural character of solid wood.
The shell is built from individual birch staves, carefully shaped and assembled entirely by hand. With a substantial shell thickness of approximately 20 mm, the drum delivers an immediate, focused and extremely powerful response.
The birch shell is individually stained to highlight the natural structure and grain of the wood, giving each instrument its own distinctive appearance. The drum is completed with brass hardware finished in gold-tone chrome, creating an elegant contrast with the handcrafted wooden shell.

The Kmicic Birch is an exceptionally loud, precise and articulate snare drum. Its rigid stave construction and thick shell create excellent projection, fast response and strong definition across the entire dynamic range.
One of its most important characteristics is its natural control. Thanks to the shell construction and carefully shaped 30° bearing edges, the drum produces a focused sound without excessive unwanted overtones. In most situations, additional dampening is simply not necessary.
The drum is also remarkably easy to tune. Its 10-lug configuration provides precise tension control and allows the Birch to perform beautifully across low, medium and high tunings.
From deep and powerful to tight and articulate, the drum retains its precision and personality.

Unlike conventional plywood shells made from multiple thin veneers, the Kmicic Birch shell is constructed from individual pieces of solid birch arranged as staves.
The approximately 20 mm thick shell provides exceptional rigidity and projection, while the 30° bearing edges help create a controlled, focused response. The result is a snare that remains precise and musical without relying on excessive external dampening.

At the same time, they offer a bright, precise stick definition, allowing each hit to be clearly felt without losing any articulation detail.Depending on the weight, the sound of the cymbals can be described as "sandy" – matte, slightly raw, yet very natural, adding character to every strike. Each cymbal is hand-forged, ensuring that every piece is one-of-a-kind, resulting in an individual, organic sound.
